The Ferguson Library, in partnership with the City of Stamford, will welcome a Citizen Service Representative, who will lead two sessions Thursday, June 9 about the new Fix It Stamford public dashboard. Participants will learn how to enter a city service request, navigate the public dashboard and review the different features the new Fix It Stamford offers. The sessions will be held 11:30 a.m. and 4 p.m.

MyHomeCT, a new state program that provides mortgage relief to homeowners who experienced financial hardship due to the pandemic, is now accepting grant applications.

Richard C. Harwood, founder of the Harwood Institute, stopped by the Ferguson Library as part of his Healing & Hope Tour to lead a discussion about his report Civic Virus: Why Polarization Is a Misdiagnosis. He shared how to make sense of what's going on in our nation along with practical ways civic leaders and citizens can reimagine and recreate our communities. Click here to view his presentation.

The Financial Planning Association of Connecticut (FPA of CT) and the Connecticut Financial Literacy Council (CFLAC) will host the upcoming presentation: "Managing Debt to Enhance Your Credit" on June 16. The discussion will be held virtually from noon to 1 p.m.

Parents are invited to participate in the Stamford Public Schools (SPS) School Climate Survey. The survey is anonymous and all questions are optional. Families are asked to complete the survey for each child attending SPS. It should only take about 15 minutes to complete.

Calling all high school juniors and seniors in Stamford: Here's your chance to gain "real-world" professional experience and earn $15 an hour this summer.

The Mayor’s Office, in partnership with the city’s Community Development Office, has reinstated the Community Micro-Grant Program, an effort that awards small grants for community-specific projects aimed at improving the quality of life across Stamford's neighborhoods. Neighborhood associations, grassroots organizations and community nonprofits are encouraged to apply no later than April 29. The inaugural Connecticut Entrepreneurship Competition for digital games, card games and board games for entertainment and education, sponsored by the Entrepreneurship Foundation and organized by GameDevCT, is currently underway. Prototypes must be submitted here no later than April 25.

Elizabeth Joseph, Associate Director of Community Engagement at the Ferguson Library, was named a recipient of Everyday Democracy's Civic Leadership Award. Elizabeth was recognized for her efforts to "shine a light on how vibrant public spaces are fundamental to civic life" by bringing together public officials, organizations and community members to discuss social issues that affect the Stamford community and develop plans of action to address them.
