The cooperative partnership between Ferguson Library and Stamford Public Schools allows students access to our huge collection of great kids and teen e-books and streaming materials. Browse here for your next great book from any of our digital content platforms. Simply enter 2111800 and your student ID number to borrow the materials.

Parents are invited to participate in the Stamford Public Schools (SPS) School Climate Survey. The survey is anonymous and all questions are optional. Families are asked to complete the survey for each child attending SPS. It should only take about 15 minutes to complete.

Celebrate Poetry Month with us at the library. Stop in at any library branch and check out a book of poems about your favorite topic. Kids: You can also try to write your own poem and practice your rhyming words. 

Do you know a budding writer? The Stamford Literary Competition celebrates excellence in student writing. The contest is open to Stamford students in grades 3 through 12 in the categories of fiction, nonfiction and poetry. Entries are due February 11. Online submissions only please. Entry form

We have a basket of mitten shapes in Youth Services at the Main library that you can decorate, practice writing your name, or tell us your Winter Wish for 2022. We will hang them up in the library for the winter season. Stop by when you visit us! 

Get a FREE Developmental Screening App. Stamford is pleased to provide Sparkler, a free developmental screening application, available in English and Spanish, that promotes healthy early childhood development and helps you advocate for your child. With the help of Sparkler, parents and families have access to the Ages and Stages Questionnaire (a developmental screening), developmentally aligned play activities, parent forums, and early childhood coaches.

Get ready for back to school with vaccines, boosters and a flu shot! Click here for information on free Stamford Covid-19 vaccine clinics.  Covid-19 vaccines are free, do not require ID or insurance, and no appointment needed! All locations have trained nurses to administer vaccines. 

Stop in and check out the Friends Book Shop, the only independent book store in Stamford, for some great summer reads! All books available are very gently used and at modest prices, with the proceeds going to support the library. Did you know July 3, 2021 is National Hop-a-Park Day? Stamford has over 700 acres of parks and beaches around the city. What a perfect opportunity to get outside!
