What is your immune system and how does it work? How is the immune system balanced? How do destructive diseases like diabetes wreak havoc on the immune system? Find the answers to these and other questions when Yale Science Communication speakers Anthony Isenhour, Tanvi Banota and Kristyn Carter present the weird and wonderful ways that your immune system protects you.

In the student-driven Yale Science in the News initiative, Yale graduate students and postdoctoral researchers present complex and exciting science topics to the general public at local libraries. Recent topics have ranged from the human microbiome to the evolution of dinosaurs. With these talks, they provide a better understanding of the science underpinning many of the complex issues we hear about in the news every day.

Q&A to follow presentation.
