Ana on the Edge by A. J. Sass

Twelve-year-old Ana, a figure skating champion, is not a frilly dress kind of kid. So when Ana learns the next season’s program is princess-themed, doubts form fast. Then Ana meets Haydn, a transgender boy, and their thoughts about the princess program and gender identity soon take center stage.

Ana on the Edge was challenged by the Texas Legislature and a number of school districts.

Grades 6 to 12.
