Event Details
An evening with bestselling author Deborah Goodrich Royce, who will discuss her latest novel, Best Boy, a psychological thriller that teeters on the knife-edge of memory and identity when the arrival of a shocking letter that threatens the carefully constructed life of a woman desperate to outrun her past.
The event will be moderated by Samantha Greene Woodruff, the bestselling author of two award-winning historical fiction novels, The Lobotomist’s Wife (2022) and The Trade Off (2024).

Deborah Royce began her career as an actress on All My Children and in multiple films before transitioning to the role of story editor at Miramax Films, developing Emma and early versions of Chicago and A Wrinkle in Time.
With her husband, Chuck, Deborah restored the Avon Theatre, Ocean House Hotel, Deer Mountain Inn, United Theatre, Savoy Bookstore, and numerous Main Street revitalization projects in Rhode Island and the Catskills. She serves on the governing and advisory boards of the American Film Institute, Greenwich International Film Festival, New York Botanical Garden, Greenwich Historical Society and the PRASAD Project.
A recovering MBA and former media executive at Viacom’s Nickelodeon, Samantha Greene Woodruff transitioned to writing in her 40s after taking continuing education classes at The Writing Institute at Sarah Lawrence College. She contributed an essay to the USA Today bestselling anthology On Being Jewish Now (2024), her writing has also appeared in Newsweek, Writer’s Digest, Female First, LitHub, and Writer’s Read.
