This special gathering ot the LGBTQ+ Social Book Club will feature a screening of the documentary, Shape: When Idolisation Leads to Exclusion. Directed by Roger Ungers, the film investigates body image discrimination within the gay community and highlights how social media, apps and club culture promote rigid, unattainable standards, causing exclusion based on age, race and physique, while fostering body dysmorphia.
Those who identify as LGBTQIA+ and allies are welcome.
