Event Details

Screening of the documentary Liberty & Slavery: The Paradox of America's Founding Fathers (2016) to commemorate Juneteeth.

In 1776, the colonies were overflowing with a deep-seated paradox. While the Founding Fathers were fighting for they own independence, many were also unabashed slave owners. Indeed, they promoted liberty and supported slavery. Liberty & Slavery explores why the Founding Fathers and their slavery paradox is a lot more complicated than first imagined.
