Medical Education: Pain Management

Dr. Ofer Wellisch, head of Stamford Hospital’s Pain Management Program, will share insights into the science-based, multi-modality approach that the program employs to manage and alleviate pain. This program, established approximately seven years ago, is one of only two specialized pain management centers in Connecticut.

Dr. Wellisch began his career in pain medicine at the Stanford University School of Medicine. Following his training, he continued to practice clinically and serve as teaching faculty at Stanford University. He has published numerous articles and medical reviews and has been invited to serve as guest reviewer for various medical specialty journals. After returning home to the East Coast with his wife and three children, Dr. Wellisch has set out to establish a state-of-the-art multidisciplinary pain center at Stamford Health to serve the community and beyond.
