Harry Bennett Branch Local Author Series: Dr. Noel Robin

Dr. Noel Robin, Chair, Emeritus, of the Department of Medicine at Stamford Hospital, will discuss his new book, I Swear by Apollo...Classical Mythology and the Art of Clinical Medicine. It provides a detailed perspective on the link between classical mythology and clinical medicine while highlighting how much these myths influence contemporary thinking when it comes to understanding, diagnosing and treating disease.

Dr. Noel Robin, board certified in internal medicine, geriatric medicine and endocrinology and metabolism, also is Director of Endocrinology. In his administrative and leadership roles in medical education, Dr. Robin serves as Chair of the Graduate Medical Education Committee, Chair of the Continuing Medical Education Committee and Designated Institutional Official. Since Stamford Hospital is a major teaching campus of Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, he represents Stamford Hospital at the medical school as Associate Dean. His academic appointment at Columbia is Professor of Clinical Medicine.
