Screening of the 1983 drama, The Right Stuff, part of the Avon on Tour: Movies That Build Community program of film screenings at the Ferguson Library while the Avon undergoes renovations.
The Right Stuff recounts the U.S. space program's development from the breaking of the sound barrier to the selection of the Mercury 7 astronauts from a group of test pilots with a more seat-of-the-pants approach than the program's more cautious engineers preferred. Rated PG.
The film stars Sam Shepard, Scott Glenn, Ed Harris Fred Ward, Dennis Quaid and Barbara Hershey.
