Screening of the 2013 drama, 42, part of the Avon on Tour: Movies That Build Community program of film screenings at the Ferguson Library while the Avon undergoes renovations.
In 42, it's1947 and Jackie Robinson faces considerable racism after becoming the first African-American to play in Major League Baseball in the modern era when he is signed by the Brooklyn Dodgers. Rated PG-13.
The film stars Chadwick Boseman, Harrison Ford, Nicole Beharie, Christopher Maloney and John C. McGinley.
The screening will be followed by a special panel discussion. Panelists to be announced soon.
