Screening of the 1996 comedy, The Birdcage, part of the Avon on Tour: Movies That Build Community program of film screenings at the Ferguson Library while the Avon undergoes renovations.

In The Birdcage, a gay cabaret owner and his drag queen companion agree to put up a false straight front so that their son can introduce them to his fiancée's right-wing, conservative parents. Rated R.

Directed by Mike Nichols, the film stars Robin Williams, Nathan Lane, Gene Hackman, Dianne Wiest, Dan Futterman, Calista Flockhart, Hank Azaria and Christine Baranski.
