Screening of the 2019 drama, Harriet, part of the Avon on Tour: Movies That Build Community program of film screenings at the Ferguson Library while the Avon undergoes renovations.
Harriet tells the extraordinary tale of Harriet Tubman's escape from slavery and transformation into one of the USA's greatest heroes, whose courage, ingenuity and tenacity freed hundreds of slaves and changed the course of history. Rated PG-13.
The film stars Cynthia Erivo, Janelle Monáe, Jennifer Nettles, Leslie Odom Jr. and Tim Guinee.
