Ferguson Library CEO Alice Knapp to be honored for literacy work

STAMFORD, March 9, 2023 – Ferguson Library CEO Alice Knapp will be honored by the Stamford Public Education Foundation April 27 with their Leadership in Literacy Award. The award recognizes community leaders who go above and beyond in their support of public education and children’s literacy.

Ms. Knapp is one of three recipients to receive the 2023 SPEF Leadership in Literacy Award. Also being honored are Amy Beldotti, Associate Superintendent, Teaching and Learning, Stamford Public Schools; and the nonprofit children’s literacy organization, Reading is Fundamental.

“I am humbled to receive this award from the Stamford Public Education Foundation. Literacy is key to the Ferguson Library’s mission and underpins our children’s programming and collections,” Ms. Knapp said. “This honor is a tribute to our dedicated staff who work hard every day to promote literacy and education.”

The awards event is being held April 27 at 5:30 p.m. at the Stamford Marriott Hotel & Spa. Tickets are available at spefct.org.
