Your library is the heart of the community – the place where people come to read, discover, attend a program, learn a new skill. It is the primary portal for growth and self-improvement for so many in our community.

The Ferguson Library receives 85% of its funding from the city of Stamford, which means we rely on generous donors like you to raise the rest. Your gift in any amount is greatly appreciated. There are many ways to support the Library.

 


 

Donate to the Library

Financially support the Library with a one-time gift, a recurring monthly pledge or a legacy gift. Funds raised help purchase materials, provide quality programming and update technology. We send out an Annual Appeal in the fall, but welcome donations any time.

If you are over 70 1/2, you can donate directly from your IRA to a qualified charity. Check with your financial planner or the IRS for details.

Friends of The Ferguson Library

Supports library programming and collections through revenue raised through their award-winning book shops at the Main Library and Harry Bennett Branch.

You can support the Friends through the Amazon Smile program. When you shop through Amazon, a percentage of your purchase comes back to the Friends.

Volunteer

A way to learn new skills, meet people and make a difference in your community.

Ferguson Library Foundation

A nonprofit organization which uses private contributions to help the Library enhance its endowment, a cornerstone of financial stability for the future.

Sunday Sponsorships

Help the Main Library maintain Sunday hours, the busiest day of the week.

Our Sunday Sponsorship program is an opportunity for individuals and organizations to support the Library in a tangible way.

The Main Library is open 1 to 5 p.m. on Sundays. Per hour, it is one of our busiest days of the week. We are committed to preserving Sunday hours, but in this era of tight budgets, we must rely on private giving to help bridge the gap.

Our Sunday Sponsors are recognized with a 10 x 6 foot banner outside the library the week of their sponsorship, on our website, in our monthly newsletter and annual report. (Of course, donors can choose to remain anonymous if they wish.)
