he can’t remember, terrified of the early-onset Alzheimer’s that stole
her mother. Now, recently divorced, she’s back home to care for her agi
ng father, who can no longer manage his beloved bees.To pay for her dad’
s care, she puts her misgivings aside and convinces him to sell to a devel
oper who’s putting up a luxury project next door. She also enlists the h
elp of beekeeper Glenn Marsden, who fiercely opposes development of this l
ast open space in town. Glenn hasn’t had much to say to women ever since
his wife left him and their young daughter eight years ago, but something
unexpected has sparked with Cassie. Cassie knows she needs to come clea
n with Glenn about her plan to sell but fears it will ruin their blossomin
g relationship. Then there’s the appointment she forgot and those pesky
words she can’t recall. Her sister is after her to get tested for the ge
netic mutation that guarantees early-onset. But does Cassie really want to
know? And will the answer sink her newfound chance at happiness?About the
author:Linda Avellar is a former Emmy-nominated TV news reporter who’s
always loved a good story. After stepping away from the news business, she
couldn’t resist taking a job at the Ferguson Library in Stamford, where
she's surrounded by books. A Southern California native, Avellar ha
s lived in Connecticut most of her adult life with her husband, two kids,
and a succession of amiable dogs and cranky cats. She is a founding member
of the Women's Fiction Writers Association, and when she's not
writing, you can find her digging in her garden, hiking with her grown kid
s in the Pacific Northwest or sailing on Long Island Sound.
