Government Documents of General Interest

Government Documents are classified in an alpha-numeric order called a "sudoc number", which consists of a letter or letters and numbers following the letter. The letter stands for the agency that generates the document, for example, "A" for Agriculture, "C" for Commerce, “I" for Interior, "L" for Labor and so forth. Not all letters are the same as the agency, for example "AE” comes from the National Archives and Records Administration, and “Y" comes from Congress.

Some documents are in the stacks and in the Reference Section, others are filed along the wall of the Second Floor.
