Advisory Sources

Money Market Directory - Published by Standard & Poor's, contains pension fund information covering both Small Pension Funds (assets $1-25 million) and medium to large pension funds ($25m and over.) Also includes detailed information such as: tax-exemption funds, allocation of assets, actuary, record keepers and total investment pool, etc., for profit as well as nonprofit organizations.

Morning Star Mutual Funds - The information on mutual funds included in this source covers the following: description and analysis, basic operating facts, statistics on total return, income, capital gains, performance/risk, 13-year historical financial statistics, portfolio holdings for largest equities, sector weightings, % loan, yield, total assets, NAV, and Morningstar rating.

Value Line Investment Survey - This advisory service analyzes and reports on 1,700 companies in about 95 industries. It offers a large amount of useful data on each company, including a 10-year statistical history of 23 key investment factors plus estimates 3-5 years into the future, quarterly sales, EPS, and dividends. Value Line also offers such unique features as projected price appreciation, dividend yield expected, insider decisions to buy or sell, review of latest developments and future prospects. Published weekly.


Directories

Directory of Registered Investment Advisors - Includes 11,165 investment advisor profiles listed by state. Also has an alphabetical index of investment advisors.

Nelson's Directory of Investment Managers – A 3-volume set covering 2,200 investment firms and 7,800 products. Coverage also includes foreign and U.S.-based firms that provide investment services to the institutional market.


Financial Data

Daily Stock Price Record - A multi-volume set providing high/low and closing prices for each stock (including NSEX, AMS, and NASDAQ). Daily market indicators, such as the Dow Jones averages, are at the front of each volume.

Weiss Rating's Guide to Stock Mutual Funds - A guide for mutual fund investors for tracking and evaluating the performance of their mutual funds. The single composite opinion of each fund's risk-adjusted performance allows the instant identification of the various funds.

Savings Bond Calculator - Find out what bonds are worth today or in the past, build an inventory of bonds.

There are an increasing number of investment advisory resources now available on the Internet. Here are a few examples:

EDGAR - From the Edgar Database you can retrieve SEC filings (including 10K s, 10Qs, Annual Reports and Prospectuses) for US public corporations.

freeERISA.com - Provides SEC Filings, Tax Exempt organizations filings, Pension funds that have or are planning to discontinue, plus other valuable information.

Yahoo Finance - Provides stock quotes and up-to-the-minute market news. Continuous updates and links to economic calendars and investment news events.

Economic History
