Literary Criticism

Expanded Academic ASAP
Multidisciplinary journal database with strong coverage in the humanities. Mainly scholarly articles, with over 50% in full-text, and many that are peer-reviewed.

InfoTrac Student Edition

Designed for the high school level, this popular database includes a wide variety of articles from magazines and reference books.

JSTOR

A digitalized archive of important academic journals in various disciplines. Provides access to 461 American and international publications.

Literature Resource Center

Biographies, bibliographies, and full-text literary criticism of works by prominent authors. For high school level and up.

ˇInforme! Revistas y Periodicos

Articles in Spanish, primarily from mainstream periodicals, but with some scholarly content.

Electronic Books

Hundreds of recent, printed books that you can download at home are available through the Ferguson Library’s webpage. To search or browse the Library’s e-book collections, use the NetLibrary and OverDrive webpage links. Digital audiobooks by contemporary and classic authors are also available. In addition to the full-text of classic fiction, non-fiction, and verse, this free website includes dictionaries, thesauri, quotation books, Strunk’s Elements of Style, and other reference tools for writers.

Project Gutenberg Digitally Re-Published Literature
A collection of over six thousand older books and historical documents that are freely available to the public. In English and a variety of world languages, with some titles also accessible as audiobooks.

The Perseus Digital Library
Comprehensive source of works from the Classical world, in the original Greek and Latin, as well as in English translations. Also features Renaissance literature, and early American books and primary documents.
