Joe Gianquinto, a retired broadcasting executive, will deliver his lecture, The Jack Benny Radio Program, about radio great Jack Benny and The Jack Benny Show, considered one of the most successful comedy programs from the golden age of radio.

You’ll learn about Jack and his hilarious cast doing what they did best, making people laugh. You’ll also hear about Benny’s challenges launching a radio program during the Great Depression. Still, he assembled an incredible team of actors and writers who provided radio comedy from 1945 to the mid-1950s.

Joe Gianquinto is a 38-year veteran of the television industry whose passion for broadcasting began as a communication arts major at Seton Hall University. After two active duty tours in the U.S. Army, Gianquinto worked for five years at the William Esty & Co. ad agency before launching his career in broadcasting, working behind the scenes at ABC, NBC, ESPN and Westinghouse Broadcasting.

After retiring, Gianquinto continued his life-long vocation of writing lyrics set to the music of the Great American Songbook, and has self-published four books. Born and raised in New Jersey, he resides in Old Greenwich with his wife of 56 years, Margaret, and is the proud father of four daughters, 13 grandchildren and one newly-minted great granddaughter.
