Book
Loan Periods:
Most books may be borrowed for three weeks with
two renewals. These are the exceptions:

Express Books

7 days (These are additional copies of new books that are in very high demand. This limited loan period allows as many patrons as possible to have access to them. Sorry, but there are no reserves or renewals on Express Books.)

New Books
- 3 weeks. One renewal if there is no one waiting for the title.
No extended loan.
Audio Visual and
Other Non-book Materials:
Videos & DVDsAdults
may borrow any ten DVDs and no limit on videos for 4 days.
Children may
borrow ten DVDs and no limit on videos for 4 days except R-rated
films.
Reserves may
be placed on any title in video or DVD format*.
DVD and Video
reserves will be held at the circulation desk for 48 hours only,
please give us your contact # for immediate notification.
DVDs and
Videos may be renewed twice for 4 days if there is no one waiting
for the title.
No extended
loan.
Express DVDs
- Adults may
borrow up to 10 titles* for 1 day.
- Children
may borrow up to 10 titles* for 1 day except R-rated films.
- No renewal.
- Cannot be
reserved.
*Video and
DVD titles at the South End Branch and the Bookmobile are not
available for reserves. Patrons can check out no more than 10 DVD
titles of any combination (Adult, Juvenile, Teen or Express) per
library card.
Picture Files, AudioTapes,
Books on Tape & CDs

limit.

Language
Kits

One set per person may be borrowed for three weeks. Two renewals.
Circulating CD-Roms

Circulating Magazines

borrowed for 1 week. No renewal.
Learning Kits To Go

borrowed for 3 weeks with two renewals.
Framed Art & Sculpture
Two may be borrowed for
4 weeks. One four-week renewal.
Please
Note:
- There are no
renewals for items on request by other library users
- All materials
should be returned on or before the date they are due; other
people may be waiting to use them.
- All materials
may be returned to any Ferguson Library location except:
Interlibrary Loan materials and Learning Kits To Go must be
returned to the Main Library.
- Books (except
for interlibrary loan items) may be returned to any public library
in the state of Connecticut; however, you are responsible for the
materials until they arrive back at the location from which they
were borrowed.
Fines
& Fees - Per Day
Per Item:
Interlibrary Loan (ILL) is a special service for getting information and materials not at
the Ferguson Library or its branches. If the material is of a new and/or popular nature that fits into our collections, we will consider purchase.
